Accommodation Appeal
Policy Information
In accordance with institutional policy and federal guidelines, students have the right to appeal decisions made regarding accommodation requests or the implementation of accommodations.
This appeals process is designed to provide a fair and timely review of such decisions. It ensures that students have the opportunity to voice their concerns and present relevant information for reconsideration. All appeals related to Access Services are reviewed in collaboration with the Dean of Students Office, which serves as a neutral and impartial body in evaluating the appeal.
Before you file an appeal, please contact and work with the Access Services Office to resolve your concerns. The Dean of Students will want to know what steps have been taken to resolve the issue. If a resolution cannot be reached with the Access Services, you may initiate the appeal process with the Dean of Students’ Office.
Scope of Appeals
This appeals process applies to:
- Denial of accommodation requests
- Disagreements regarding the nature or scope of an approved accommodation
