Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the official organization through which students make recommendations regarding student concerns to the administration.

SGA members participate in college events. Conduct polls to gather the opinions and attitudes of students. Provide student representation on college committees and assist with charitable and civic activities. Learn more about SGA in the Student Handbook.

Get Involved

Become SGA representative. Representatives are elected for one-year terms by the entire student body. Elections for Student Government are held at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. There are many opportunities for students who want to get involved, including:

Student Senators

Senators are elected to represent the student body and its interests. Senators will be called upon to vote on matters concerning the SGA and the student body. They always represent the students and, in a larger sense, ICC as a whole. Senators should be involved with the student body as much as possible, so they understand the concerns of the students.

Student Trustee

Each spring, ICC students elect a member to the ICC Board of Trustees. The Board, which is composed of eight members elected from the college district, adopts and enforces policies and rules for financing, governing, operating, and administering the college. The Student Trustee has an advisory vote on the Board, may make and second motions, attend executive sessions, and express opinions and preferences on votes taken during the monthly business meeting.
