November 11, 2025

The Illinois Central College Educational Foundation announced the winners of their 2025 awards at their annual Community Celebration event on Tuesday, October 29, at the Peoria Civic Center.

The Distinguished Alumnus Award was presented to Rick Swan, executive director of the East Peoria Chamber of Commerce. He has dedicated his career to advancing education, economic development, and community leadership by fostering strong connections between local businesses and ICC, ensuring the College’s programs meet the evolving needs of the regional workforce and help students succeed.

The Alumnus of the Last Decade Award was presented to Jazmine Stubblefield, who graduated from ICC in 2015 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Montevallo, a master’s degree in biomolecular science with a concentration in cancer biology from Lipscomb University, and a doctoral degree in dental surgery from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry. She is currently completing her pediatric dentistry certificate at Yale University.

“Our annual alumni awards recognize ICC graduates who have achieved outstanding success in their chosen field, shown a strong commitment to humanitarian service, and demonstrated support for higher education and Illinois Central College,” said Mike Unes, Vice President of Institutional Advancement.

Rick Swan and Jazmine Stubblefield are incredibly deserving of their awards. They are helping make their community and region a better place, and we could not be prouder to call them ICC alumni.
