Carter began shaping his future long before college. At thirteen, he turned a small idea into a growing screen printing and graphic design business. What started with stickers made on a Cricut and sold on Etsy grew into custom apparel, embroidery, promotional products, and heat pressing. He taught himself each new step and quickly realized he loved helping people bring their ideas to life.

When it came time to choose a college, Carter explored several options, both in and out of state. ICC stood out for its welcoming environment, familiar layout, and the ability to start business classes right away. Staying close to home meant he could continue running his business while gaining the knowledge needed to strengthen and grow his company.

Anything is possible when you follow your passion and take initiative.

The enrollment process felt smooth and supportive. Carter appreciated the clear information available online and the way employees took time to understand his goals. His admissions representative, Haley Haggard, made a lasting impression by asking about his business and upcoming events, which helped him feel comfortable and valued from the start.

Beginning his first eight-week session came with nerves, but his communication class with Professor Joseph Chianakas eased the transition. The class created a sense of connection that helped Carter form friendships and feel at home on campus. He soon realized how much more he could learn about the business world. Concepts he had not considered before gave him new insight into managing and growing his company.

Carter has taken advantage of advising, scholarships, and campus resources. Advisor Lily Maxwell has played an important role in helping him select classes that match his goals without adding unnecessary coursework. Although he is still early in his ICC journey, he already sees how each lesson applies directly to his daily work with his company.

As he looks ahead, Carter is deciding whether to continue to a four-year institution or focus fully on expanding his business. Whatever he chooses, he plans to let passion guide the path he builds.
