Associate in Arts (Transfer)

Students completing the Associate in Arts music program at ICC will be ready to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a bachelor's degree or begin working and performing as professional musicians in their community.

Students will grow in their skills and abilities on their instrument or in voice study through private instruction and performance ensembles. In addition, students will master music theory concepts and voice leading, sight-singing and dictation skills, piano improvisation and music reading, and an overview of music history.

Get Involved

Students can enroll in music lessons or be a part of one of our performing ensembles: Concert Band, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Jazz Band, Philharmonic Choral, and Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

How Do I Get Into the Music Program?

Take your love of music and turn it into a career. Connect with an Admissions representative to learn how to get started.

  1. Complete our quick admissions application. It’s free and easy!
  2. Apply for financial aid (FAFSA).
  3. Apply for ICC Scholarships. Just 1 application for over 700 scholarships.
  4. Previous experience in school band or choral programs is helpful, but not required.
  5. Applicants must score a 70% or better on music theory placement exam or successfully complete MUS 136 and a diagnostic audition in primary performance area.
