Paige is excited about her future in healthcare, especially since Surgical Technologists are in high demand in hospitals. “I joined the program straight out of high school, and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I really enjoy what I have done so far as a surgical technologist student,” she says.

Surgical technologists are crucial for ensuring safe surgical procedures. They maintain a sterile environment, organize instruments, and assist surgeons to make each procedure as smooth and efficient as possible.

Paige has learned from Program director Sonya Conton, who has made a significant impact on her experience at ICC. Paige says, “Sonya is such an encouraging person and motivates me to be the best I can be.”

Paige has felt supported throughout her ICC journey because “there is always someone to help—whether it’s a teacher, advisor, or even a tutor.” With the small class sizes, Paige said she has more opportunities to grow as a student and ask questions. As an experiential learner, she appreciates the hands-on nature of the program and facilities at ICC.
