Gabriela Finds Passion and Purpose

Gabriela’s college journey may have started later and taken longer than most, but it is a testament to the transformational power of education.
Initially unsure if college was the right path for her, Gabriela discovered the Legal Studies program at ICC. The program’s accreditation, affordability, and flexible schedule made her decision easy.
“Take the leap, even if it takes you longer to earn your degree.”
Now, after juggling full-time work and night classes for four years, she’s ready to walk the stage at graduation and begin a successful career as a paralegal.
Reflecting on her time at ICC, Gabriela says she gained invaluable skills and knowledge that prepared her for a successful future in the legal field. The practical curriculum and supportive environment exceeded her expectations, reaffirming her decision to pursue her degree at the ICC. She is especially grateful for the support of Professor Thomas Higgins, who has been a guiding light through her studies.
As a student member of the Legal Studies Advisory Board, Gabriela is eager to share her insights and experiences to enhance the program for future students. Her perseverance in achieving academic success also led to her induction into Phi Theta Kappa honors society.
Gabriela enthusiastically recommends ICC to others, emphasizing the quality of education and supportive faculty.
Gabriela’s experience at ICC led to her current job with the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, where she finds alignment with their mission. Passion drives her work ethic, and she cherishes the opportunity to make a positive impact on her community.
