ICC and General Motors can help you become a GM-certified service technician through the General Motors-Automotive Service Educational Program (GM ASEP)

Start out on the right foot with financial aid, scholarship opportunities and our paid sponsored internships.

Our GM-factory trained instructors will teach you the latest in automotive trends and technology using the same tools and equipment as the service facility technicians use. Our four eight-week internships at an approved GM dealership or ACDelco Professional Service Center will then reinforce what you learned through real-world experience.

When all is said and done you will have earned an associate in applied science degree with the option to transfer to select automotive programs at 4-year universities all while meeting the ASE/NATEF training standards.

Quality Instructors

Trevor Imm

Trevor holds an Associate in Applied Science degree from Illinois Central College. He is an ASE Master Certified Technician, a GM World Class Technician and an ASE L1 Advanced Level Specialist. He has 7 years of dealership experience and 6 years of teaching experience.

David Morgenstern

David holds an Associate in Applied Science degree from John Logan Community College. He is an ASE Master Certified Technician, a GM Master Certified Technician and an ASE L1 Advanced Level Specialist. He has 11 years of dealership experience and nearly 20 years of teaching experience.

Specialized general education courses provide the training you want with the quality instruction you need.

As a student in GM ASEP you will learn everything you need to know to become a successful GM automotive technician. From the hands-on, state-of-the art GM specific classroom training to the paid real world experience during the internship, you will be ready for success come graduation!

Successful graduates will earn GM certification in over 80% of the GM common training courses, an associate of applied science degree in automotive technology from Illinois Central College and have a fulltime job opportunity with their sponsoring GM dealer or ACDelco Service Center!
