Ceramics Class Open Studio Visit

East Peoria Campus, Academic Building, Ceramics Studio, 137F

Visit Adjunct Instructor, Oliver Reed and his ceramics students as they demonstrate wheel-throwing techniques. The large gas kiln will also be going through a reduction firing. Come back on Thursday, April 18 for the reveal of the kiln contents.

Installation: The Clothesline Project, sponsored by The Center for Prevention of Abuse. Each t-shirt displayed was created by a Central Illinois survivor of violence or by a loved one who has lost someone to violence. Different colors represent different types of violence.

Devon Blumenshine: Classic Novel to Graphic Novel – Adapting Existing Stories to a Visual Format

East Peoria Campus, Academic Building, Lecture Recital Hall, 127F

ICC librarian, Devon Blumenshine will discuss the adaptation of classic literature into graphic novels. She will focus on the current One Book, One College selection, Kindred by Octavia Butler, and highlight previous One Book, One College reads. Learn about the techniques authors and artists use in creating these adaptations to give the stories new life.
