Experience Practitioners, an exhibition by Peoria artist, educator, and performer Alex Martin.
Through richly layered paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media works, Martin creates imaginative worlds inspired by Black, trans, queer, and Appalachian traditions. The exhibition celebrates identity, resilience, community, and the power of storytelling through contemporary art.
Visitors are invited to explore the exhibition throughout its month-long run, with two artist talks on September 10 offering an opportunity to hear directly from Martin about the work and creative process.
