Professional Development Institute (PDI)
The PDI at Illinois Central College is a comprehensive training organization whose mission is to serve businesses and individuals by providing both open enrollment and customized, in-house or on-site, quality seminars and workshops. Through our dedicated staff, state-of-the-art technology, and community and academic resources, we seek to continuously improve our programs and services to our customers.
Adult Community Programs
Adult Community Programs are (noncredit) workshops and programs on a variety of topics, designed to give community members opportunities to learn something new. Topics include history, art, computers, language, gardening, crafts, cooking, film, fitness, home, and special interests. There are also day trips and special events. Unless otherwise stated, programs are designed for adults 18 and over.
College For Kids
College for Kids is for grades 4th – 10th offering a broad range of classes that will challenge students in academic areas, and will also offer creative and interesting classes in the fine arts, sciences, technology, math and so much more. Classes run Monday through Thursday, at the East Peoria campus beginning at 8:15am. Students may register for one to three classes. Each class lasts two hours with the final class ending at 3:10pm. Working parents/guardians may opt for Club CFK after regular classes which runs till 5pm.
Illinois Central College offers an SAT PREP course that will help students prepare for the test AND answer parents’ questions regarding the transition from ACT to SAT. The SAT PREP course also helps students gain knowledge in what scores and subject tests are required for college admission and teaches test-taking strategies.
