BRDGE 081 BRIDGE TRANSITIONS: CAREER AND POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION - ABE

2 Credit Hours (ABE)
This course helps students examine the components of career choice, acquire the skills necessary to obtain employment and succeed in the workplace, and learn how to navigate college services and processes. It is generally offered in conjunction with a contextualized basic skills bridge course and BRDGE 080.

Pre-requisite: Reading level of 7.0 - 8.9 on a standardized reading test accepted by the Illinois Community College Board or the College and department approval


BRDGE 082 MANUFACTURING BRIDGE - ABE

3 Credit Hours (ABE)
This course is designed to provide reading, writing, and math skills instruction using resources and materials related to manufacturing. Students will gain occupational knowledge and skills and be introduced to key concepts and terminology. They will develop the personal, academic, and computer skills needed for study and work in this career pathway. This course does not provide training in a manufacturing-specific occupation. Students will also refine their career goals and research specific interests, as well as receive services to assist with the transition to post-secondary education and/or a career in manufacturing.

BRDGE 083 HEALTHCARE BRIDGE - ABE

3 Credit Hours (ABE)
This course is designed to provide reading, writing, and math skills instruction using resources and materials related to healthcare. Students will gain occupational knowledge and skills and be introduced to key concepts and terminology. They will develop the personal, academic, and computer skills needed for study and work in this career pathway. This course does not provide training in a healthcare-specific occupation. Students will also refine their career goals and research specific interests, as well as receive services to assist with the transition to post-secondary education and/or a career in healthcare.
