Agricultural Business Management-Precision Agriculture

The Precision Agriculture Certificate program prepares you for a career in agricultural businesses that integrates technical geospatial abilities with agricultural knowledge. The intent of precision agriculture is to match field data, agricultural inputs, and management practices to specific locations within a field (site-specific management) to improve the accuracy of application and hopefully improve profitability. If you’re the kind of person who likes to maximize results, enjoys emerging technology and likes agriculture, this career may be for you. You will need a good understanding of the natural processes that occur in the soil, the nutrients found in soil, as well as how fertilizers, pesticides, and irrigation systems can enhance plant growth. You will also need to know how to collect and analyze field data using global positioning and geographic information systems.
