Illinois Central College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.  ICC earned accreditation for Distance Education in 2003.

Online Classes with Special Requirements

Proctored Exams

While ICC offers these programs as fully online, some classes might require proctored exams.  ICC faculty will provide students with options, at ICC and at a distance, to fulfill the requirements of proctored exams when required by the instructor in some online classes.  BIOL110, EASC118, PHYSC114 and most MATH online classes require proctored exams.  Contact the instructor for more information.

BIOL110 – Life Science Online

Enrollment in BIOL110 is limited to US students, only. Due to restrictions on shipping the course’s required lab kit, only students based in the US can enroll in BIOL110 – Life Science online.  Contact someone in the Math, Science, and Engineering office for more information, 309-694-5365.

COMM212 – Public Speaking Online

COMM212 online requires students to participate in live, online speech delivery.  The class schedule will note the day and time requirement for live, synchronous online speech sessions.

SPAN210 – Intermediate Spanish I

SPAN210 online requires students to participate in regular live, online, recorded chats with other students in the class.  The instructor will provide information about online chat requirements.

Out of State Students

VirtualCampus-NC-SARA-logoIllinois Central College has been approved by Illinois to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education.  Out of state enrollment limitations may apply to some students.  As of 9/21/17, ICC cannot enroll students resident in California or Massachusetts.  As of 10/1/17, ICC will be able to enroll students resident in Florida.
