This initiative focuses on developing our area’s workforce by providing participants with a credential and a living wage. It addresses high demand-careers and targets low-income individuals, those living in high crime and high poverty areas, unemployed individuals and minorities.

Architecture & Construction

HVAC Residential Installer

Take your first step to a career in the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry. Students completing this certificate will be prepared to work as entry-level residential furnace and air conditioner installers.

Health Science

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Becoming an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is the first level of EMT training. EMTs are well-versed in basic emergency care skills with the ability to assess a patient’s condition and take actions to treat and stabilize the patient so he or she can be transported to a hospital.

Licensed Practical Nurse

This program is designed to prepare the nursing graduate to give nursing care to patients at the bedside under the direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, dentist, or podiatrist.

Information Technology

CompTIA Certifications

The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) is a leading voice and advocate for the $5 trillion global information technology ecosystem; and the estimated 75 million industry and tech professionals who design, implement, manage and safeguard the technology that powers the world’s economy.

LAN Technician

This certificate is designed to provide students with hands-on experience and knowledge in foundational networking technologies that could lead to several entry-level job opportunities. It focuses on basic routing and switching technologies, as well as computer hardware and operating systems.

Manufacturing

CNC Machine Operator

CNC Machine Operators are an important part of the manufacturing industry. These individuals interpret blueprints and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools to produce parts and materials used in manufacturing.

Production Welder

In one semester, students will gain the knowledge and skills in gas metal arc welding (GMAW) or metal inert gas (MIG) for employment as an entry-level welder in a manufacturing facility.

Welding Operator

The Welding Operator Certificate program prepares students with entry-level skills in the major commercial welding processes, SMAW and GMAW. With welding skills in both processes, completers of the Welding Operator Certificate might seek entry-level welder positions in the construction as well as the manufacturing industry.
