ICC Vaccination Update for Students – 9.10.21
Dear ICC students,
As Illinois Central College makes progress toward complying with the state’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, I wanted to share the latest update with you. ICC will be using a software system called Cleared4 to collect data and manage the testing tracking for both employees and students.
On Monday, September 20, you will receive an email (from [email protected] to your ICC email account) and a text message with your personal link to the Cleared4 system. Follow the on-screen instructions to answer the questions and complete the onscreen disclaimer.
If you have received the vaccine, you will need to upload a photo/copy of your vaccination card. You will receive an email notification from ICC through the system once your vaccination card has been reviewed and approved. No further action will be required on your part. (If you were vaccinated in Illinois and lost your vaccination card, the state has launched a Vax Verify portal to obtain your information.)
If you have not received the vaccine, you are encouraged to do so and then upload your vaccination card. If you have a medical or religious reason not to vaccinate, or simply choose not to, you will begin weekly testing. There is no waiver to bypass the testing protocol. Again, per the state’s legal team, while you may have a medical or religious reason not to vaccinate, there are no valid medical or religious exemptions to testing. As I shared last week, SHIELD Illinois will not be on campus for testing until the end of September or beginning of October. Hence, we are asking students who need to follow the testing protocol to test on their own at any location in the area and upload the results weekly. With the absence of on-campus testing, we understand testing on your own may be challenging and not possible at this time. If you are able to test and upload your results, please do so. If this creates a barrier or challenge for you, know that you will not be tracked until on-campus testing begins. However, once on-campus testing begins, you will be required to test weekly, and it will be tracked.
An email address has been created for students to reach out with any issues or questions. The email [email protected] goes to a small, focused group of HIPAA-trained employees within ICC HR. Please be assured your information, vaccination status, and questions are kept private.
