ICC Hosts 40th Annual Landscape & Garden Day
Illinois Central College Horticulture program will host the 40th Annual Landscape and Garden Day on Saturday, September 11, from 9 am to 3 pm, at the ICC Horticulture Land Lab on the East Peoria Campus. This free event is open to the general public. For students interested in a potential horticultural career, there will be program and admissions information available.
“We are thrilled to host this family-friendly event again. It’s exciting to showcase the ICC horticulture program and our ‘hands-on’ learning opportunities to the general public and potential students,” said ICC Assistant Professor of Agricultural and Industrial Technologies Corinne Brown.
This year’s event is themed “Diversity in the Garden” and features seminars with topics of interest to gardeners of all ages and experience levels. The newest winners of the All-America Selections will be showcased, featuring the best and brightest flowers and vegetables available for next year’s home gardens.
Tours of the facility and greenhouse will be provided, as well as fun activities for kids. There will be a plant sale featuring hostas and other perennials and woody plants grown by students in the ICC Horticulture program. Visitors can also enjoy displays by area garden clubs, nurseries, and landscapers.
Free parking is available with shuttle service from Lots A2 and B2. Handicapped parking is available in Lot G.
