Distance Education Accreditation and Regulation
Illinois Central College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. ICC earned accreditation for Distance Education in 2003 and uses HLC Statements, C-RAC Guidelines for continuous improvement in Distance Education.

ICC also attempts to comply with the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations.
Illinois Central College has been approved by Illinois to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education. Out of state enrollment limitations may apply to some students.
As of September 9, 2016, Illinois Central College cannot enroll students resident in the following states: Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
