In order for a region to be economically vibrant, at least 60% of its adults need to possess a post secondary credential, in our region only 40% have met that mark, resulting in significant workforce gaps.  ICC and its partners are focused on changing this situation.  Brent Baker from the Greater Peoria EDC  will share our high school career pathways project while the president with address partnering with employers for new workforce based programs.  These initiatives create a system that provides credentials, fills workforce gaps and provides family sustaining wages which not only changes the trajectory of the individuals life but that of their family while growing the workforce and growth the regional economy.
