Emerging Technologies “Unconference”

You’re invited to join this discussion and demonstration of the latest and greatest emerging technologies available. This is the first in a series of three “unconferences,” where the participants create the agenda for the meeting. All of the “unconferences” will focus on cutting-edge technologies that may be useful or of interest to ICC faculty, staff, and students.
Agenda for Sept. 24 Unconference:
3:30 p.m. – Demonstration of one of the few pairs of Google Glasses (wearable computer glasses) in Peoria! Presented by Anton Peck of One Fire Media.
3:45 p.m. – Discussion of Startup Peoria, a grassroots movement of thinkers, doers and innovators to sprout tech start-ups in Central Illinois. Presented by ICC Alumni Advisory Council Member Amy Lambert.
4:00 p.m. – Demonstration of Leap Motion Controller, an alternative to the computer mouse (Similar to the computer interface used by Tom Cruise in the movie Minority Report.) Presented by ICC Professor Mark DuBois.
4:15 p.m. – Discussion of Wacom and Adobe touch-sensitive pens on iPad (Features more than 2,000 levels of pressure.) Presented by ICC Professor Mark DuBois.
Future “unconferences” are scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, and Tuesday, November 26, at the same time and location. Watch for details.
