UPDATED DATES :: RSVP for Upcoming Blackboard Training Sessions
Please note the change in dates . . . we are switching Boot Camp from Monday through Thursday to Tuesday through Friday to accommodate those who wish to attend but have final exams scheduled on Monday. We will dismiss by 11 am on Friday, in time for the start of Mingle Jingle.
The Teaching & Learning Center is offering a combination Blackboard Jumpstart/Boot Camp in mid-December. This series is designed for full-time and adjunct faculty who wish to use Blackboard as a supplemental tool in their classes. Both novice and experienced users can benefit from the workshop.
This is an intense, fast-paced workshop with hands-on activities covering many of the basic tools that are available within Blackboard. It is recommended for faculty planning to teach online or hybrid courses or looking to more fully supplement their face-to-face courses. The series consists of four face-to-face sessions. Attending Part I will fulfill attendance for Blackboard JumpStart – please plan to attend all four sessions to complete the full Blackboard Boot Camp.
All sessions are scheduled from 9 am – noon in Room TC218, East Peoria Campus. Attendees are welcome to spend time in the afternoon working in the TLC on the skills you learned during the morning session.
Tuesday, December 15: Part I will focus on customizing your Blackboard course navigation menu and learning how to effectively use the instructor Control Panel.
Wednesday, December 16: Part II tackles adding and managing content within your Blackboard courses.
Thursday, December 17: Part III takes an in-depth look into assessment and evaluation tools available within Blackboard.
Friday, December 18 (11am dismissal): Part IV will wrap-up with discussion and application of additional Blackboard tools and features.
