ICC Tornado Relief Information
Our thoughts and prayers are with those who lost so much on Sunday, November 17. Our hearts go out to the members of our own ICC Family who lost homes, power or are providing aid to family and friends affected by the disaster.
*If you are aware of any faculty and staff who have been affected by the tornado, please contact HR at (309) 694-5720, or email [email protected]. The victims’ contact information will remain confidential.
*Tornado Victims Must Register for FEMA Assistance — Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) wants EVERYONE who has sustained ANY loss or damage from the tornadoes on November 17, to register with their office before the registration deadline expires. Residents have just 60 days from the declaration of disaster (declared on November 26) to register for federal disaster aid.
It is important to note that FEMA assistance is available to victims with varying degrees of damage and loss. Assistance WILL NOT duplicate your current insurance coverage.
To register and to apply for assistance, contact FEMA at 1-800-624-FEMA (TTY 1-800-462-7585), or go online to www.DisasterAssistance.gov (mobile site m.fema.gov). Visit http://www.fema.gov/ for a complete listing of items you will need in order to register.
FEMA also is partnering with state and local assistance agencies to offer a Disaster Recovery Center or mobile office where applicants may go for information regarding FEMA and the disaster assistance program. Some of the services include guidance regarding disaster recover, housing and rental assistance, childcare and unemployment disaster insurance information.
The Disaster Assistance Center in our area is located at the FOLEPI building, 2200 E. Washington St., in East Peoria. The center is open seven days a week, from 8 am to 7 pm.
