Holiday Season Updates

Dear colleagues,

As the holiday season quickly approaches, I wanted to provide a couple of updates.

In realizing the holidays and end of the semester are busy times both professionally and personally, we have decided to not hold a Winter Fest event.  This doesn’t mean we don’t want you to celebrate the end of the semester like you normally would with your friends and colleagues.  You are welcome to plan holiday activities on your own.  Please stay tuned as we conjure up a fun, family event in the spring.

Another update is regarding the winter break closing.  Typically, the paid holidays during the winter break would include Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.  However, it’s been ICC’s tradition to also include the days between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day in the paid holiday winter break, providing us time with family and friends and an opportunity to recharge.  Any additional days added to the winter break have been at the President’s and Executive Cabinet’s discretion.

This year I’m happy to announce December 23 will also be included in the winter break.  The College will close for winter break from December 23, 2019, through January 1, 2020.  We will reopen on January 2, 2020.

Employees eligible for holiday pay and staffing for essential operations will remain consistent with our current practices.  If you have questions regarding this, please speak with your supervisor or manager.

Thank you and have a joyous holiday season,

Dr. Sheila Quirk-Bailey
