College for Kids Registration Opens March 13
The College for Kids program will offer area students an assortment of creative and educational classes during the 2013 session. The summer program features classes for students entering fourth through tenth grades. Session 1 runs Monday –Thursday, June 10 – 20, and Monday-Thursday, July 8 – 18. Additional off-site Friday Fun Trips are offered from 8:15 am to 4:30 pm on each Friday of College for Kids. Registration begins on March 13.
Participants may choose from a variety of classes in art, adventure, math, science, dance, theatre, computers, language and more. Class topics range from cooking, film, singing, and algebra to photography, drawing, advanced game maker, study skills, and chemistry.
The Friday field trips will include Geocaching at Wildlife Prairie State Park, horseback riding at Rockin’ P Ranch, and the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Complete details on the field trips, including recommended grade level, cost, and dates are available online at www.icc.edu/cfk.
Club CFK extends the day and accommodates working parents by offering activities for student participants following the final class session of the day until 5 pm. Club CFK features games, art activities, computers, crafts, and snacks from 3:15 until 5 pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays of each session, Club CFK student participants will take the Cougar Van across the parking lot the CougarPlex. They will participate in organized exercise sessions, enjoy free time on the basketball courts, and attend healthy lifestyle workshops. The cost to attend Club CFK is $65. Students must be signed out by a parent or authorized adult no later than 5 pm.
Tuition is $75 per class unless a materials fee is noted. The optional Friday field trips vary in price. Registration deadline is one week prior to the start of class. Space is limited.
