Chinese Script Writing Exhibit on Display at East Peoria Campus Library
As a part of the programming of the ICC/Xiamen Huaxia Chinese Language Institute, a traveling exhibit on The Evolution of Script Styles of Chinese Writing is on display in the ICC East Peoria Library. The display is presented by a collaborative effort by the ICC East Peoria Library, the ICC International Office and Chinese Language Institute.
The exhibit presents the evolution of many written characters in the Chinese language, from basic pictograms to symbolic characters. The historical and societal context associated with these writing forms is also presented. The content was prepared by Dr. SuiWah Chan, Professor Emeritus at Michigan State University, and He BingWu, an artist and calligrapher.
The exhibit is on display as of today, March 3, 2014 and will remain on display in the Library until March 26, 3014. You are invited to come and see it. Please encourage students to view the exhibit as well.
