Between the Lines :: Call for Proposals Spring 2016
It is time for the Spring 2016 Between the Lines Call for Proposals.
Between the Lines (BTL) is looking for enthusiastic presenters who are passionate and prepared to lead a discussion, conduct a seminar, or present a lecture centered on a literary topic. Topics must meet the “Charter Goals” criteria in order to be considered. If you’ve never presented, or if it’s been a while, please consider supporting this lecture series by sharing your expertise. Faculty from any department are welcome to apply.
Between the Lines (BTL) is an ICC English, Humanities, and Language Studies program that offers literary presentations to promote reading, literacy, and scholarly study among ICC students and the local community.
The following categories have been successful in the past; however, you are not limited to these areas: classic fiction, fiction genres, dramatic literature (plays), film adaptations, biography/memoir, comic books/graphic novels, poetry, best sellers list, popular book club picks, socially important books, current Young Adult fiction, literature as an interdisciplinary teaching source, character studies, literary theory application (should be introductory level and audience aware), and One Book, One College selections. The 2015-2016 One Book, One College selection is March by John Lewis. The BTL committee would like one of the presentations to focus on that book.
NOTE: BTL will be offering two presentations during the day at the East Peoria campus and two presentations in the evening at ICC North. Please check dates and times carefully:
Monday, Feb. 1 – Room 212C/D, East Peoria Campus, 2:30pm
Tuesday, March 1 – Arbor Auditorium, North Campus, 7 pm
Monday, April 4 – Room 212C/D, East Peoria Campus, 2:30 pm
Tuesday, May 3 – Arbor Auditorium, North Campus, 7 pm
To submit a proposal, please email to the following to Jen Hopp at [email protected]: Presenter(s) name(s), title of presentation, brochure blurb, and presentation date preference
Proposals are due by October 15.
