What is a Gate Review?
Gate Reviews are special meetings where faculty, staff and stakeholders may go to give input on projects being completed by Six Sigma teams. Everyone is invited to attend, following supervisor approval. Feedback and opinions of all employees are valued.
What will be discussed?
Currently, students petition for late withdrawal grades for course(s) after the semester has ended. The Late “W” Petition team has completed its analysis on filing a petition for a late “W” grade. The team first looked at when the student submitted the petition and required documentation to the Vice President of Student Affairs office. Subsequently, the team continued to review when the petition was submitted from the Vice President of Student Affairs office to the academic department(s) for a decision and then returned back to the Vice President of Student Affairs. The team focused on improving the petition to make the process more efficient for students and academic departments. The team will report improvements, recommendations and timeline for implementation.
Who should attend this Gate Review?
Faculty and staff who are involved or interested in the petition for late withdrawal process may like to attend as well as those who provide technology support to students.
