Practicing Self-Care

Often we take care of other people, but we forget to take care of ourselves. It is essential to take care of yourself and your well-being. Here are three ways that I practice self-care.

Unplugging myself from social media and current news gives me a break from the world. Turning off my phone allows my brain to live stress-free for a while and enjoy my everyday surroundings. It also gives me time to focus on more important things rather than my phone screen.

Listening to music is my escape from reality on any given day. I usually turn on my speaker or plug my headphones in and listen to my thoughts. Music helps reduce my anxiety levels and elevates my mood positively.

Finding a hobby to partake in can distract you from everyday life. In the past couple of years, I have picked up the game of golf. It is relaxing, and you can play by yourself or with others. Having the opportunity to be outside and be active always makes for a better day.

These are a few ways how I practice self-care. How do you practice self-care? Check out this week’s Top 3 and share your responses to ICC Top 3.
