ICC Theatre program presents: Ken Ludwig’s Sherwood
With a revised schedule due to winter weather cancellations, the Illinois Central College Theatre Program presents Ken Ludwig’s Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood, opening March 1 for three performances in the main stage theatre of the ICC Performing Arts Center, located on the East Peoria Campus.
Packed with thrills, romance, laughter and immortal characters like Little John, Friar Tuck and Maid Marian, Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood tells the enduring story of a hero of the people who takes on the ruthless powers that be.
The show is rated G for swashbuckling fun for all ages.
Writer Ken Ludwig has written 24 plays and musicals, with six Broadway productions and seven in London’s West End. His Tony-winning play Lend Me A Tenor was called “one of the classic comedies of the 20th century” by The Washington Post. His many awards and honors include the Charles MacArthur Award, two Helen Hayes Awards, the SETC Distinguished Career Award, the Edgar Award for Best Mystery and the Edwin Forrest Award for Contributions to the American Theater.
Due to scheduling issues brought about by the recent inclement weather, the run of the show has been trimmed back to three performances only. Shows on March 1 and March 2 begin at 7:30 pm; the March 3 Sunday matinee starts at 2:30 pm.

Robin Berkley directs the ICC production. The show is produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
Tickets cost $8 for the general public and $6 for students and senior citizens.
The production is presented by the Arts at ICC, which has a rich history of enhancing the arts community and expanding education beyond the classroom. Arts at ICC presents more than 500 exhibits, performances, lectures, rehearsals, meetings, master classes, clinics, seminars, receptions, orientations, forums, auditions and tournaments annually.
