ICC Athletes Receive NJCAA Honors
The National Junior College Athletic Association released their list of Academic All-Americans for the 2017-2018 season recently and 34 ICC student-athletes were named to the first, second, and third teams.
Eight student-athletes earned first-team status (4.0 GPA), ten earned second-team honors (3.80-3.99), and sixteen made the third team (3.60-3.79), nearly one-fourth of ICC student-athletes. Several teams were represented: softball (8), men’s soccer (8), baseball (7), volleyball (4), women’s soccer, women’s basketball (2), and golf (1).
Five teams achieved a cumulative GPA above a 3.0 for the 2017-18 academic year: softball (3.35), men’s soccer (3.22), baseball (3.16), women’s basketball (3.07), and volleyball (3.03).
