ICC Ladies Roll in Galesburg: #18 ICC 86, Carl Sandburg 44
The #18 ICC women’s basketball team had all players score as they rolled to an 86-44 win over Carl Sandburg on Tuesday, November 14 in Galesburg. The Cougars dished out 24 assists for 38 total field goals, including a 6-13 showing from 3-point range in the victory, moving their record to 4-1 on the season.
The start was a bit slow for both teams, with the Blue and Gold holding an 8-3 lead with 2 minutes left in the first quarter until Kathy Pinnock Branford scored on a nifty layup to start a 22-5 Cougar run. Amazingly, ICC scored on the next 10 straight possessions, giving them a 30-8 lead and they never looked back. Several players contributed during the run on both ends of the floor, and when ICC brought in fresh troops, things kept rolling, allowing them to take a 56-14 lead at the half. All players saw quality action as ICC worked on their offensive sets and got in some zone defensive work in the latter half.
