Transfer Checklist

Step 1Meet with ICC Transfer Center

Step 2Choose a Major

Step 3Choose a University

Choose 2-3 schools that you would like to attend. Be sure to visit the campus and see if you can envision yourself there!

Step 4Apply for Admission

Submit admissions applications (and fees, if needed) to your transfer institutions of choice.

Step 5Send Transcripts

Send your academic transcripts (from all colleges you have attended) and obtain letters of recommendation, if necessary. Directions for requesting your ICC transcripts be sent to your transfer school below:

  • Login to MyICC (If you do not know your user ID and password, select Find User ID/Username. You’ll be prompted for your last name and Social Security Number. Make note of your UserID/Username to use for resetting the password.)
  • Navigate through these menu options: Main Menu › Self Service  › Academic Records › Secure Transcripts.
  • Select Start My Order and then follow the proceeding directions for each page.

Step 6Secure Financial Aid

Complete the financial aid process by completing a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Application.

Step 7Stay in touch with your transfer school

Attend any “Transfer Days”, if available, complete the housing process, and register for classes as soon as possible.
