Federal Pell Grant

This grant is awarded to full and part-time students with financial need based on the student’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The EFC is created by the government when the student submits the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The actual amount of this award will vary based on the number of credit hours the student is enrolled in each semester. The student must be enrolled in at least .50 credit hours to be eligible for Pell Grant funding.

  • Full-time: 12 hours or more
  • ¾-time: 9-11 hours
  • ½-time: 6-8 hours
  • less than ½-time: less than 6 hours

There is nothing you need to do. These funds are automatically requested from the Federal Government based on your enrollment level and EFC.
