Illinois Central College’s “Between the Lines” program presents “Giving thanks to the writers who move us”

Illinois Central College’s “Between the Lines” Program will present “Giving Thanks to the Writers Who Move Us” on Tuesday, November 5, at 7 pm in Room 134 of Cedar Hall at the ICC North Campus, 5407 N. University, Peoria. Presenter is Sarah Parlier, professor of English, Humanities and Language Studies, at Illinois Central College.

Just like favorite holiday get-togethers, this Between the Lines presentation is an interactive event in which attendees are invited to read a passage from their favorite book and share how the text has shaped them. Readers of all ages are welcome with hopes that the evening will be a cross-generational, community-wide celebration of literacy.

The event will feature a take-a-book, leave-a-book table where attendees may bring a book to pass along to another reader. This will allow everyone to take home something new for their reading collection.

“Between the Lines” is a lecture series presented by the faculty members of the English, Humanities and Language Studies Department at ICC.  Since the series began in the fall of 1990, ICC has offered more than 100 presentations on a wide variety of literary topics.

The goal of the series is to offer literary presentations which will interest students and people in the community as well as promote reading literacy and scholarly study. The programs are free and open to the public.
