Illinois Central College will designate “Walk-In Wednesdays” beginning July 31 as a means for new and returning students to get one-stop assistance with enrollment, advisement and financial aid all in one day. Individuals interested in attending or returning to college can expect to leave “Walk-In Wednesdays” with an ICC Fall class schedule and a completed application for federal student aid. Fall semester classes begin on August 19.
No appointment is necessary. The process, from enrollment to financial aid application, takes approximately four hours. Offices on the East Peoria Campus will be open from 8 am to 6 pm. In order to complete placement testing services, please arrive no later than 2 pm.
Staff members will be available to assist in completing all the steps for enrollment. Prospective students will first submit ICC’s admission form for immediate processing and then will complete untimed placement testing in both reading and math. Individuals will then meet with a skilled advisor to assist them in choosing courses for their first semester. Some specialized majors and departments may require scheduling an appointment with a departmental advisor.
ICC’s Financial Aid Office then will assist prospective students in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to apply for financial assistance in paying the tuition.
In order to complete all of the steps to apply, test and enroll, interested individuals need to bring a valid picture ID, social security card and a check or credit card for payment plans. In order to complete the FAFSA form, current W-2 forms, previous tax returns and current bank statements are required. Individuals aged 23 and younger will also need their parents’ or guardians’ social security card, current W-2 forms, previous tax returns and current bank statements.
