ICC’s College For Kids combines Summer learning with fun

Illinois Central College will offer area students an assortment of creative and educational classes during the 2014 session of College for Kids. The summer program features classes for students entering fourth through ninth grades.  Session 1 runs Monday –Thursday, June 9 – 19 and Monday-Thursday, July 14 – 24.  Additional off-site Friday Fun Trips are offered from 8:15 a.m. – 3 p.m. on each Friday of College for Kids.   Registration begins on March 14.

Participants may choose from a variety of classes in art, adventure, math, science, dance, theatre, computers, language and more. Class topics range from cooking, ballet, singing, and algebra to photography, drawing, advanced game maker, and study skills.

The Friday field trips will include horseback riding at Rockin’ P Ranch, and the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Complete details on the field trips, including recommended grade level, cost and dates are available online at www.icc.edu/cfk.

Club CFK extends the day and accommodates working parents by offering activities for student participants following the final class session of the day until 5 p.m.  Club CFK features games, computers, and snacks from 3:15 until 5 p.m.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays of each session, Club CFK student participants will go to the Cougar Plex.  They will participate in organized exercise sessions, enjoy  free time on the basketball courts and attend healthy lifestyle workshops.  The cost to attend Club CFK is $65.  Students must be signed out by a parent or authorized adult no later than 5:00pm.
