Illinois Central College’s “Between the Lines” Program will host its 3rd Annual “Giving Thanks” Between the Lines event on Tuesday, November 3, at 7 pm, in the Auditorium at the North Campus, 5407 N. University St., Peoria.
ICC professor Dr. Sarah Parlier will host this session, which will focus on our shared love of writing. As we think about all that we’re thankful for, this event asks us to give thanks to the writers who move us. This participatory, reader-centered event encourages us to share a reading from a favorite book and explain how the reading has impacted us. Participants will leave with a list of new books to read and a stronger sense of the reading community.
The event will include a take-a-book, leave-a-book table.
“Between the Lines” is a lecture series presented by the faculty members of the English, Humanities and Language Studies Department at ICC. Since the series began in the fall of 1990, ICC has offered more than 150 presentations on a wide variety of literary topics.
The goal of the series is to offer literary presentations which will interest students and people in the community as well as promote reading literacy and scholarly study.
The programs are free and open to the public.
