ICC Students top Skills USA contest in Springfield

ICC students recently competed in the Skills USA State Championship held in Springfield, Illinois, and 20 students earned medals by placing among the top three in the state in their respective categories.

The competition tests students’ knowledge and skills within their technical area of study and includes both written and hands-on testing and problem-solving. Students are expected to perform the same type of work they would complete in the workplace and are evaluated based on their knowledge and technical skill within their field. Gold medal winners earn the honor of advancing to the national competition held in Kansas City, Missouri, in June.
