Information Technology (IT) careers and the educational pathways leading to these job opportunities will be the focus of Illinois Central College’s “Technology is IT!” event on Tuesday, July 21, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, at the Technology Center on the ICC East Peoria Campus. The event will highlight several IT programs, including ICC’s new Secure Software Development Associate in Applied Science program and the self-paced, competency-based Web Developer Certificate program. Information on CISCO and networking, computer programming, and web development programs also will be available. The event is free and open to the public.
Participants will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of the highlighted careers in action and learn about job outlook and demand from local IT professionals and ICC faculty members. ICC Financial Aid and academic advisors will be present to answer questions, and classrooms will be open for tours.
Programs featured for the event include:
· Associate in Applied Science degree programs – Computer Programming and Database Development, Secure Software Development, CISCO Networking Specialist, Network Administrator, Web Systems
· Applied Science transfer degree programs – Computer Information Systems (Technical Emphasis) and Computer Information Systems (Business Emphasis)
· Certificate programs – CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Computer Programming and Database Development, Networking Web-Rich Internet Application Developer, Web Designer, Web Developer (new competency-based program), and Webmaster
