EAST PEORIA — The Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) awarded Illinois Central College a $40,000 Nursing Improvement Grant to enhance student success in its nursing program. Funds will be used to provide students with additional help in coursework and other support to help them succeed academically. Support may take the form of counseling, mentoring or tutoring, and the grant’s overall goal is to increase student retention and student satisfaction by identifying needs early and intervening in a timely fashion to improve success in courses, the overall nursing program as well as professional careers.
ICC was one of three institutions to receive Nursing Improvement Grant from IBHE.
Illinois Central College offers an associate in applied science degree program that prepares graduates to take the licensing exam to become a registered nurse (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses).
