For the third year in a row, Illinois Central College was designated a 2015 Military Friendly School by Victory Media’s G.I. Jobs Magazine. Victory Media provides service members transparent and data-driven ratings about post-military educational and career opportunities and awards honors to only the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country who “do the most to embrace military students and dedicate resources to ensure their success in the classroom and after graduation.”
The honor places ICC in the top 16% of all colleges nationwide. Awards are based on each school’s scores in four major areas, including military culture, financial assistance, flexibility and available support services.
“ICC is proud to receive this award for the third year in a row,” said Vice President of Student Services Dr. Tracy Morris. “We hold a steadfast commitment to our nation’s great military veterans by assisting them with the transition from military to civilian life and providing them with the best possible educational experiences available.”
Veterans enrolling for classes at ICC may be eligible for financial assistance through certain educational programs. Get more information on ICC’s programs for veterans or call ICC Veterans Affairs Coordinator Marie Marcotte at (309) 694-5565.
