ICC Horticulture students compete nationally

Students in the Illinois Central College horticulture program recently competed in the national Professional Landcare Network Student Career Days at Auburn University in Alabama. The competition includes 28 different events with students from throughout the nation representing both community colleges and four-year colleges and universities.

Among the top finishers, Joshua McCarthy, Peoria finished 42nd overall among the more than 800 students competing. Kelsey Head, Washburn, placed sixth in leadership.

Eight Illinois colleges competed in the national event, and Illinois Central College received the highest team ranking among them.
