Since the 2011-12 season, a community partner–a non-profit or community organization with a connection to the particular Guest Artists Series performance–-has been highlighted at ICC Guest Artists Series shows. Since Second City is performing a holiday-themed show, the community partner for the November 28, event is Toys for Tots.

To encourage donations and thank donors, those who donate a new, unwrapped toy prior to The Second City show on November 28, will be eligible for a drawing for two tickets to a future ICC Guest Artists Series event. One entry is allowed per person. The drawing for the pair of tickets will take place after intermission at the Second City show.

Those wishing to donate to Toys for Tots in the days leading up to the show can do so by bringing their donation to the ICC Performing Arts Center Box Office. In order to be entered into the ticket drawing, individuals should bring their donations to the box office during its hours of operation, which are from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays and one hour prior to public events in the Performing Arts Center.

With a sack full of all-new sketches, The Second City’s Holidazed & Confused Revue continues to be the holiday season’s most time honored, riotous send-up of the season.

The show is rated R for some adult language and mature themes.

Founded in Chicago in 1959, The Second City has become the premier training ground for the comedy world’s best and brightest. The alumni list reads like a Who’s Who of American Comedy, as it includes: Alan Arkin, Joan Rivers, Robert Klein, Peter Boyle, Harold Ramis, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, George Wendt, Martin Short, John Candy, Bonnie Hunt, Tim Meadows, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Horatio Sanz, Ryan Stiles, and current NBC Saturday Night Live cast member Cecily Strong, who performed with Second City at ICC in 2012.

As it does for all Guest Artists Series events at ICC, CityLink is providing Park and Ride service from Peoria. Buses leave Evergreen Square at 7 pm, and transport passengers directly to the ICC Performing Arts Center. Buses return to Evergreen Square immediately after the show. The cost is $1 each way with senior citizens 65 years of age or older riding free.
