ICC Guest Artists Series Presents New Odyssey ─ 3 Guys Playing 30 Musical Instruments

With a catalog of music spanning more than five decades, New Odyssey ─a group of three performers who play 30 different musical instruments ─ presents the final performance of the 2014-2015 Illinois Central College Guest Artists Series on Friday, May 22 at 7:30 pm in the ICC Performing Arts Center in East Peoria.

New Odyssey has been together for more than 30 years and features an expansive catalog of music, including classic rock, country, novelty specialty arrangements and many genres in between. The group has performed at literally thousands of functions, always to complete satisfaction and rave reviews. With its combination of great music, comedy, audience participation and sheer zaniness, New Odyssey presents a family-friendly show that must be seen and heard to be believed.

The secret to New Odyssey’s success is the group’s ability to adapt to any and every audience.  From performing arts theaters to corporate events to festival beer tents, New Odyssey is prepared for anything! While using the latest technology and equipment, the group consistently updates its material and creates timeless musical compositions that surprise and delight everyone from the young to the young at heart.

The group includes Gary Todd, Michael Jay and Gary Polkow. Todd serves as drummer, plays more than 15 instruments and is the designated “comic” of the group. Jay plays 10 instruments and is the billed as the strongest vocalist of the trio. In addition to performing, Polkow serves as musical director of New Odyssey.

In addition to the performance, the finalized lineup of shows in the 2015-2016 ICC Guest Artists Series will also be unveiled at this event. Ticketing information about the 2015-2016 season also will be available.
