Gamers will have the chance to match their skills against other local players for a good cause at Illinois Charity Gaming Tournament on Tuesday, May 19 and Wednesday, May 20, from 4 to 8 pm each day at the CougarPlex on the Illinois Central College East Peoria Campus. ICC’s College Level Gaming Club (CLG) will host the event, with half the proceeds of ticket prices benefitting the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
Gamers playing in the Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare single elimination tournament will compete on May 19 and May 20. The top three finalists will compete on May 20 for cash prizes based on the number of ticket sales.
All participants also will have the opportunity to challenge CLG members at two stations throughout the event for no additional fee. Games at these stations include titles such as Super Smash Brothers and Mortal Combat, with a surprise game featured on May 20.
The event is open to the public. Tickets are $40 for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare tournament competitors and $10 for visitors, which includes the additional games for no additional charge. Children under the age of 10 years are free. Cost includes a lanyard and allows players entrance for both days of play, regardless if the participant has been eliminated from the tournament or not. Concessions will be available.
