Illinois Central College will celebrate more than 10 years at its North Campus on Tuesday, September 10, with a public open house, a community progress report and self-guided tours.
The “ICC North Update” will be held at ICC’s North Campus, 5407 N. University St., Peoria, on Tuesday, September 10, from 5-7 pm. The evening will begin with remarks in Poplar Hall at 5:15 pm and will continue with self-guided tours of the North Campus’ recently remodeled and updated buildings.
Participants should park in Parking Lot #7 and enter through Poplar Hall to begin the tour. Refreshments will be provided.
Some of the highlights of the night’s events include tours of the state-of-the-art Culinary Arts Institute in Dogwood Hall and the Police Training Center in Poplar Hall, as well as free chair massages by ICC Massage Therapy program students in Arbor Hall. Classrooms and science labs in Poplar, Dogwood, Maple and Hickory Halls will be open for public viewing.
ICC’s North Campus opened for minimester classes in December 2002 and currently offers classes for more than 2,000 students at this location. Since its opening, ICC North has developed into a full-service campus, including a library, free tutoring labs, a bookstore presence and food service.
