Illinois Central College will celebrate the diversity of its international students’ cultures at the 11th Annual International Fair on Saturday, April 2, from noon to 3 pm, in the ICC East Peoria Campus cafeteria. The event is open to the public.
“The fair offers the community, and especially families, the opportunity to explore and appreciate world countries without ever leaving central Illinois,” said ICC International Education Program Director Dr. Barbara Burton. “International students from China, Thailand, Jordan, and Egypt will share a wealth of cultural knowledge through their music, dancing, and food.”
Additional entertainment will include a fashion show where students will model traditional costumes from their native countries, a Kenyan dance performance, as well as a martial arts demonstration.
There is a suggested admission donation of $2 for adults. Children under age 12 are free. Students will offer food samples from their native countries for a modest cost, with proceeds going toward the International F-1 student scholarship fund.
Global Village of Peoria Heights will sell a selection of coffees, chocolates, clothing, and gifts from developing countries.
