ICC at the 2015 Health Career Expo

Illinois Central College Health Careers faculty and students partnered with local healthcare organizations to give over 130 high school students an interactive, first-hand look into the world of health careers this week!

ICC faculty led workshops giving local students the chance to scrub up in an operating room, test blood samples in a lab setting, try out some physical therapy techniques, witness an emergency response team in action, and much more! ICC students volunteered facilitating activities and giving high school students a real perspective on how they can begin preparing for a career in healthcare.

The Health Careers Expo is an annual event hosted at the JUMP Trading Simulation and Education Center and is sponsored by Illinois Central College, Economic Development Council for Central Illinois, Tazewell County Education for Employment, Peoria Educational Region Employment and Career Training (PERFECT), Central Illinois Vocation Education Coop (CIVEC), Unity Point Methodist, Unity Point Proctor, Pekin Hospital, OSF St. Francis Medical Center and the Jump Trading Simulation and Education Center.
