ICC Nursing student Bobbi Matuszak is driven to succeed. A New Hampshire transplant and mother of three, Bobbi was drawn to ICC because of the flexibility it offered.
“When my kids were younger and I was a stay-at-home mom, I knew it would be difficult for me to go to school full-time. ICC helped because they provided the flexibility needed to complete my degree.”
Bobbi had already completed a Bachelor’s degree in the past, and decided to begin a second career in nursing after spending some time at home with her children.
“I’ve always wanted to help people. I like a good challenge and work that requires critical thinking.”
As a Nursing student at ICC, Bobbi has had great success. Not only was she elected to be the Sophomore Student Representative of Student Nurses of Illinois Central College, she was also selected for the competitive OSF Student Nurse Extern program last summer.
“I’ve always been academically motivated and determined—since I was a small child…When I have a goal, I take steps to make it happen. ICC has been one of those steps.”
Bobbi is well on her way to completing her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse. After graduating from ICC in May of 2016, Bobbi plans to continue her studies and pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. But for now, she is enjoying her educational journey one step at a time.
“I learn more about what I like along the journey to where I’m going.”
