Building Analyst Training offered in November and January

The Professional Development Institute at Illinois Central College will offer five-day training sessions on analyzing building systems. The training is specifically for remodeling and new home contractors, ENERGY STAR contractors, residential construction trade workers, energy consultants, inspectors, and residential architects and engineers.

Upcoming sessions are scheduled for — November 2-6, 2009; January 4-20, 2010

All sessions will meet at Illinois Central College Perley Building, 115 SW Adams, Peoria.

The five-day session will provide hands-on classroom learning as well as field experience at actual home sites to provide participants experience using testing equipment and analyzing building systems. Topics will include building science, building systems, building performance, envelope systems, combustion safety, professional conduct and communication, BPI National Standards and project specifications.

Cost is $2,025 per participant which includes all training materials and exams. The exam sessions (four hour written exam and four hour field exam) will be held the week following training. Scholarships for $1,500 are available based on eligibility. Seating is limited to 12 per class.

The training is jointly offered by Tricon, Workforce Network, and the Professional Development Institute at Illinois Central College.
